MORTAL COMPUTE
ACTIVEThe Compute Pantheon
The foundational algorithms of machine intelligence, mapped as a mythology — a creative-technical reading of how the field actually evolved.
since 2026
// GOAL
A creative cartography of machine-intelligence history: cast the irreducible algorithmic forces as a pantheon, and read the field as accretion (substrate preserved) versus replacement (a paradigm genuinely supplanted).
// METHOD
A pantheon of "greater forces" (gradient descent, information theory, linear algebra) and "minor techniques" (Adam, ReLU, Attention, Diffusion…), an accretion-vs-replacement ecology, and a year-by-year chronicle from 1943 to the present.
// OUTCOME
A living canon: the pantheon, a 1943→present chronicle, and an accretion-vs-replacement map of how ML paradigms stack on or supplant one another — a creative-technical history of the field's lineage.
